Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has insisted that accountability should not be on only the part of government.
He is of the view that it’s imperative that other state Institutions are held accountable for their actions to the service of the people.
The man who led the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 election says African countries will have a number of their issues fixed if there is accountability from both government and civil servants who are put in leadership roles.
Absolute accountability, not just by government but by the institutions of state in service to the people and not themselves, will go a long way to remedy many of the systemic problems that affect our African people.
Over the years, accountability has been linked to only governments whiles civil servants create loopholes to steal cash from the state.
These individuals because they are not politicians are mostly left off the hook whiles politicians struggle and are given all sorts of names.
