A Certified Economist, Bernard Oduro Takyi (BOT) has stated that the vice president of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a voodoo economist and has made political communication very easy in the country
He explained that, people now fear to call themselves economist because the value in being an economist is being devalued by Dr Bawumia
Speaking on Simpieso, a political talk show airborne by Ahotor FM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 hosted by Emmanuel Martey, Alaska De Don, BOT reiterated that, the vice president is a voodoo economist
“Look, I keep telling people that we have several types of economists, Bawumia is a voodoo economist. In voodoo economics, you promise the people more and tell them they will pay less tax”
“If you are not a magician, how can you tell Ghanaians you will give them 1D1F, PFJ and tell them they will pay less tax, are you Jesus Christ to turn water into wine?” He quizzed
“You are running a political economy and it is anchored on three things; taxation, borrowing and prudent expenditure” he said
