Mrs Ruweida Lamptey has urged Ghanaians and the government to treat female footballers well in the country to encourage more women into sports.
The young woman claims that the attention given to men is nowhere closer to what their female counterparts get and that demotivates other women who have a love for sports.
In an Interview on Ahotor Agorokansie Mrs Lamptey, a sports enthusiast herself believes that if little attention is given to female footballers in the country, many more women will love the sport.
“You see, the kind of attention you give to male footballers, give a little bit to the ladies too. Motherhood alone is not easy let alone adding football. If you give a bit of attention to women’s football, you will be surprised at the level it will get to.”

“There is interest in the game but the country is not too supportive of our women’s football and that is the challenge now. If we give them (female footballers) little push, women’s football will grow” she concluded.
Wife to former Black Stars player Odartey Lamptey, Ruweida took the opportunity to invite all and sundry to the Sukumono tennis court for the Tennis Chic event aimed at honouring our mothers.
Women’s football has been gaining lots of attention in recent years in Ghana and the world as a whole.
Hasaacas Ladies recently finished second in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League held in Egypt.
