The Salvation Army -Ghana as part of it’s mandate to provide humanitarian assistance to those in need has donated items worth GHC 100,000 to Victims of Appeate disaster
The delegation from the Western District of the Salvation Army was led by Major Justice Isaac Incoom, who is the divisional commander – Accra/Tema, Major Richard Wiafe Asante, the project secretary together with the district leader, Mr Anthony Wiafe Asante and some members donated food items like rice, maize, beans, gari and other commodities to these affected victims to make life bearable for them
It was reported in January this year that, a vehicle carrying mining explosives collided with a motor cycle at a village in Appeate, a town near Bogoso rendering the whole community desolate
It resulted in the destruction of buildings and claimed the lives of some others
It was reported that at least 17 people died and many others were injured
