Asante Kotoko are happy with Abdul Ganiu’s call up – Obeng Nyarko

Abdul Ganiyu Ismael was included in coach Milovan Rajevac’ team for the World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South last Thursday; a feat Kotoko say they are proud of.

The versatile defender has been an exceptional player in our local league since last season and earned him a call up into the senior national soccer team the Black Stars.

Ganiyu was absent in the double header against Zimbabwe due to inactiveness since the league was on recess but was named yesterday in coach Milo’s 28 man squad for the last two games in Group G of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

David Obeng Nyarko, the  Communication and Brand Manager of Asante Kotoko revealed that they are happy for the call up of the player and hope he earns more  call-up.

“Asante Kotoko is elated. Our captain Ishamel Abdul Ganiu has made it to the Black Stars call up looking at the number of Ghanaian footballers scattered across the globe. It is a great opportunity for us and a lot of other, local players”

“It is good for our local players to get the chance to play for Black Stars. Milovan Rajeevic is interested in the league and going round to monitor games. Black Stars coach will scout many players due to his presence at the Premiership center in the country”

“There are lots of talents  scattered in all the Ghana Premier League clubs not only at Porcupine Warriors  so we should give the opportunity and when the chance is given players should also serve wholeheartedly”

The Black Stars of Ghana will play away to Ethiopia and South Africa in Cape Coast to complete the group games.
