“Kyebi Interpol” pops up as social media users troll President Akuffo Addo over fake interpol red alert.

On social media, several Ghanaian have reacted to what many described as fake interpol red alert released by the CID department of Ghana Police Service.

The CID yesterday released a statement detailing progress on the search for one Samuel Adam Mahama. The said release indicated that, Interpol have officially released a red alert notice on Mr. Adam for his involvement in Airbus scandal.

According to the report, Mr. Samuel Adam Mahama who is a Ghanaian and a UK citizen had earlier been reported to Interpol by the Office of the Special Prosecutor here in Ghana in connection with the recent Airbus scandal in the UK and the notice is a feedback from interpol on the request made.

Since the release by the Ghana police service, many Ghanaians have taken the trouble upon themselves to visit the official Interpol website to confirm the said notice and to the surprise of many, it all turned out to be fake.

What has kept many people wondering is what could be the motivation for a state institution like Police Service to fake Interpol Red Alert notice.

The development has attracted a lot of attention on various social media platforms as many believe it’s all for political expediency since the name Adam Mahama relates to H.E John Dramani Mahama, the former President of Ghana.

The development has has generated lots of trolls for President Akuffo Addo and Police Service on various platforms …with some calling the interpol. .”Akyem Branch ” and :Kyei Interpol”.

Among the weird photos in circulation on various social media platforms is “Kyebi branded Interpol logo”
