We need to help the police to help us -Michael Ologo

In view of Ghana’s 61st independence  anniversary, histo- political journey from the 6th of march 1957. To commemorate the day in Grand style with pup and pageantry . 

The 2020 parliamentary hopeful for the Yilo krobo constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) in the eastern region, Mr. Michael Ologo has held a soccer competition between the Youth in Somanya and the District Police Command of the town.

Addressing  Participants who were drawn across the various electoral areas in the municipality during the opening ceremony, The Parliamentary hopeful Michael Ologo reiterated his profound commitment in ensuring that there is absolute peace and tranquility within the confines of the Yilo Krobo municipality/ constituency of the region.

He emphasized in optimism and, opined that, the youth and the police for some period of time have engulfed themselves in an unbridled misunderstanding and good practice and  courtesy as well as fraternize  comradeship requires the ‘smoking’ of  perpetual and  resolute peace pipe, amongst the two feuding parties in order to foiled the long standing protracted dispute which have lasted for sometime now.

He further  appealed and pleaded during the closing ceremony that, the municipality can only attained its developmental drive if the inhabitants live in total peace , harmony and in unity.

The ‘Unity soccer match’ which came off on Tuesday 6 march, 2018 was used as a prelude to commence the peace building process between the youths in Somanya and the Police.

Participating teams included: WAJU WAN football club and the Police team as well as other social fun clubs, with Ahotor 92.3 Fm in Accra and Radio1 100.7fm, also in the Eastern region, being the titled media partners of the event.

According to the  Parliamentary hopeful, the match he explained was used as a unification antidote to heal ‘ open wounds’ within the two sides.

Concluding on his remarks of the sidesteps of the program, Michael Ologo bemoaned the tacit use of belligerent comments by the youths which he admonished has the tendency to stoke confusion in the constituency, region and the nation as a whole  and urged them to seek a recognized headquarters for redress. He stressed however that,” out of many we are one people, and we need to.help the police to help us project our communities”.

He implored the District Police Command in the area to maximize efforts to fight brazen crime related issues and protect lives and property.

Michael Ologo was however optimistic that, the journey to peaceful coexistence will yield the needed positive results and the tangibles shall be witnessed by all and sundry.
