The Volta Regional House of Chiefs, led by its President and Paramount Chief of the Anfoega Traditional Area, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in Accra.
The visit, held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, was to congratulate Mr. Ablakwa on his birthday and appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister, while also strengthening the relationship between the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Togbe Tepre Hodo IV said the visit was also an opportunity for the House to commend the Minister for his service to Ghana and his commitment to the development of his constituency and the Volta Region.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Ablakwa expressed appreciation to the chiefs for the visit and their congratulatory messages. He said he was particularly grateful that the traditional leaders had travelled to Accra to pay the courtesy call, describing their gesture as a privilege to host them at his official workplace.
The Paramount Chief commended Mr. Ablakwa for what he described as his dedicated service and contributions to national development. He also praised the Minister for maintaining a strong connection with the Volta Region despite his national responsibilities.
Togbe Tepre Hodo IV noted that the Volta Region had, over the years, faced challenges regarding its share of national resources and development opportunities. He, however, observed that there had been significant changes in recent times, which he associated with the Minister’s efforts and commitment to ensuring that the interests of the region received greater attention.
He encouraged the Foreign Affairs Minister to continue championing the development interests of the Volta Region while serving the broader interests of Ghana.
