The UNESCO Ghana Commission has joined the National Youth Authority (NYA) at the National Youth Conference held in commemoration of International Youth Day, with a strong focus on empowering young people to become effective advocates for their rights and wellbeing.
As part of the conference, UNESCO Ghana, together with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Ghana, AfriYAN Ghana and the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), led a session focused on youth advocacy for the WCA Commitment towards ensuring educated, healthy and thriving adolescents in Ghana.
The session provided an important platform for young people to engage in discussions around issues affecting their education, health, development and future.
The collaboration also highlights the growing importance of giving young people a meaningful voice in decisions and policies that directly affect their lives.
Through initiatives such as the National Youth Conference, stakeholders are working to equip Ghanaian youth with the knowledge, confidence and advocacy skills needed to contribute to national development.
The International Youth Day activities therefore served not only as a celebration of young people but also as a call for stronger investment in their education, health, wellbeing and opportunities.l
The collective efforts of UNESCO Ghana, NYA, UNFPA Ghana, AfriYAN Ghana and PPAG underscore the need for continued collaboration to create an environment where every young person can be educated, healthy and empowered to thrive.
