Beach Soccer AFCONQ: Ghana’s Black Sharks Crush Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles 7-4 in Keta

Ghana’s Black Sharks defeated Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles 7-4 in the second leg on 18 October 2026 at the Keta Emancipation Beach Soccer Arena in Keta, Volta Region, securing a 10-7 aggregate victory and qualification for the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.

The tournament in Senegal is scheduled for 7–15 November 2026 and also serves as a pathway toward FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualification, with hosts and defending champions Senegal already qualified automatically.

The first leg took place on 10 October 2026 at the Murtala Muhammed Square Beach Soccer Pitch in Kaduna, Nigeria. It was a high-scoring, end-to-end encounter that finished 3-3 after regulation time. Nigeria’s Isa Hamza Manga completed a hat-trick and was the standout performer for the hosts, while Ghana’s goals came from Mawuli Sosu with a brace and Wise Nyamadi.

Ghana produced a clinical and attacking display to win 7-4, overturning any pressure from the first-leg draw and sealing a comfortable aggregate triumph on Sunday in the Volta Region.

The Black Sharks have appeared at the Beach Soccer AFCON in 2015, 2016, and 2024, and this qualification marks a return after missing the previous edition while keeping them among Africa’s competitive beach soccer nations.

The Black Sharks now prepare for the finals in Senegal, where they will compete against the continent’s top beach soccer sides, including the hosts.
