Tema Food Bazaar 2026 Receives Official Endorsement from Ghana Tourism Authority and Diaspora Affairs

The Tema Food Bazaar (TFB), a three-day cultural and culinary event scheduled for December 4 to 6, 2026, has received official endorsement from the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Office of Diaspora Affairs of the Presidency.

The endorsement marks a significant milestone for the maiden edition of the event, which seeks to showcase Tema’s rich food culture, promote local businesses and create an exciting gathering point for residents, visitors and members of the diaspora during the festive season.

Organised by Speech Production and Manille Foods in collaboration with Event Republic and Scriptorium Arts, the event will take place at Square Site 14 in Community One, Tema.

Speaking about the development, Mr Mel Kwesi Davis, Head of Events for Tema Food Bazaar, said the endorsement was particularly important because many international visitors are expected to visit Ghana in December and will be looking for credible and exciting events to attend.

He expressed optimism that the backing would help position Tema Food Bazaar as an attractive destination for both local and international visitors seeking an authentic Ghanaian cultural experience.

Tema to Showcase Its Food Culture to the World

Under the theme “The World Meets at 0°,” the event seeks to highlight Tema’s connection to the Greenwich Meridian, which passes through the city.

According to Davis, the theme reflects the idea of bringing people from different parts of the world together in Tema to celebrate food, culture, music and human connections.

The organisers expect the bazaar to attract patrons from across Ghana and abroad, offering opportunities for people to reconnect with old friends, discover new cuisines and network in a lively, family-friendly environment.

Local Food Vendors Support Maiden Edition

Despite being its first edition, Tema Food Bazaar has already received encouraging support from food vendors and businesses within the municipality.

Among the vendors that have confirmed their participation are Aliya Waakye in Community Four, Haunch Kitchen in Communities Two and Four, Agba Mami in Community Two, Feel at Home Tilapia & Banku in Community Ten, near Monte Carlo, Biggies Fufu Joint in Community Eleven, and Suncity Restaurant and Pub, also in Community Eleven.

Several other vendors are expected to participate, giving patrons the opportunity to explore a variety of Ghanaian dishes and culinary offerings in one location.

The organisers believe the event will also provide a valuable platform for local food businesses to increase their visibility, connect with new customers and showcase their products to a wider audience.

Music, Food Competitions and Family Activities

Beyond food, the three-day bazaar will feature musical performances by various artistes, food competitions and other entertainment activities designed to keep patrons engaged throughout the event.

Children will also have their share of the excitement, with activities including games, face painting and other interactive experiences planned for younger attendees.

The organisers have indicated that security arrangements will be put in place to support a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for families.

With its combination of food, music, cultural experiences and family entertainment, Tema Food Bazaar is positioning itself as one of the events to look forward to in the city during the December festive season.

Free Entry for Patrons

Mr Davis expressed excitement about the upcoming event and appreciation for the support received from businesses and other stakeholders in Tema. He assured prospective patrons of an enjoyable experience when the bazaar opens in December.

The event will run from December 4 to 6, 2026, at Square Site 14, Community One, Tema, with free entry for all patrons.
