Pork Consumers expresses worry over 20% proposed increment

Consumers of Pork in the Bono Region have expressed worry over the proposed 20% increment in pork.

The President of the Pig Farmers Association of Ghana, Kwame Appiah Danquah disclosed at this year’s Porktober event.

According to the Association, the emergence of a high cost of production has necessitated the upward price adjustment.

The farmgate price for pork is expected to rise by 20% from December 1 this year.

Reacting to this, some pork consumers in Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono region have expressed dissatisfaction with this decision indicating that, the current economic condition may compel them to stop consuming their favorite meat hence there must be a consideration to rescind decision as we approach Christmas.

“I love pork meat, myself, friends and entire family, when the price increase it will affect me”, a consumer explained to Ahotor news.
