Parliament must put Ghanaians first —–Amadu Sorogho

The Member of Parliament forms epitome of every democracy and every business in parliament is meant to address the social and economic needs of the people. The chaotic situation going on in parliament does not speak well of the New Patriotic Party government.

The two groups in parliament business is to collaborate to agree on the policies and development programmes of the government that will address the needs and problems of the citizen.

The Former Member of Parliament for Madina Amadu Sorogho said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu in Accra.

He said the leaderships of the hang parliament must respect each other in this crucial time to debate on the budget and address the economic reality of hardship facing the country.

Amadu Sorogho, opined that, looking at the 2024 budget under the NPP government, is full of unachievable targets as against the revenue targets. In another development “Well, the same story, we will still kick against the budget. We are ready and poised for the headcount.

Monitoring from parliament; we are optimistic that all our members will be present today, and we will reject the budget. We are all here but, none of them is available as we speak now.

“There are so many anomalies in the budget, so many taxes we want the government to take away to reduce the burden and sufferings of Ghanaians.

Even some of the members of the majority are not in agreement with some of the taxes. We have decided to kick against the budget so that they go and correct the anomalies.” he said.
