Our young democracy is under threat —Ben Doe

Ghana Democracy is under threat since the political system and structures for electing people to public office is no longer based on competence and rather money for vote buying. The recent past New Patriotic Party orphan constituency primaries was reported of displaying of cash to delegates.

These unfair principles of financial inducement further draw the attention of the office of Special Prosecutor to invite some of the candidates to help in an investigation.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Team Member Hon. Ben Doe said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu in Accra.
He said money inducement has taken a centre stage of all our elections and there is a need to adopt approach which can be fair to all contestants else we are going to lose a good quality and competence people in public and political office and in a near future elections to public office will be sold to a highest bidder.

He is of the view that, in 2024 election; we are going to speak to issues and facts and it’s very unfortunate to hear the Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia saying the outcome of the orphan constituency, can help to win these seats back, is misleading, since NDC gained more seats in the 2020 elections and what informed the thinking of the Vice president to say, going forward NPP is going to win more seat and presidential elections.

Reacting to the Dr. Bawumia and Alan Kwadwo Kyremanteng on the 24 hour economy said these two gentlemen of the country were part of the economic management team and can only accounts for corruption, deception, and lairs.

The policy is envisaged to correct the backlog of youth unemployment to benefit from the three shift system of jobs. Where companies will be targeted to tap into the package and policy the government will assist them with electricity, security and tax break to expand the production base to close the gap between the employed and the unemployed.

Ben Doe further stated that, Ghanaians are calling for change and NDC is ready to win more seats and win the presidential elections for the NDC government to develop this country once again.
