NPP will pick their running mate from Ashanti region — Ben Ephson

The 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections is pregnant with a lot of mind boggling and happenings in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) which can be describe as politically incorrect. The recent action by the leadership of the NPP announced that Hopeson Adorye, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Nana Ohene Ntow, and Boniface Abubakar Saddique are no longer members of the party after they publicly endorsed and campaigned for Alan Kyerematen.
In a statement, the NPP said the four had forfeited their membership of the party for their flagrant breach of the party’s Constitution, particularly Articles 3(5) (A) (4) and 3(9)(1)
Speaking to the issue on Ahotor 92.3 FM Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu; Benjamin Emmanuel Ephson a journalist and pollster, the Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch, stated that, is likely the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will pick their running mate from the Ashanti Region.
This he said the region served as the party strong hold and it’s, always laudable to pick the running mate from the region that have the strong identity with the party.
He opined that, from his projection he is of the view that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen cannot get 1% from the 2024 presidential polls as he declared a movement to run as independent presidential candidate.
He said his brand within the party for the past twenty three years has weather down and does not resonate with the new crops of people from the party grassroots.
Touching on the religious dynamics, he reiterated that, the Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia candidature as Muslim has helped the NPP to increase their votes in the Northern Region.
Going forward he projected that, political discourse on campaign platform must be managed with care not degenerate in degrading any religious sects. The he believes can be a factor to drive away some voters from one party to another.
In another development, Benjamin Emmanuel Ephson, a journalist and pollster, the Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch emphasized that, if NPP manage to get 42% from presidential election from the Eastern Region and 42% of the Ashanti Region the New Patriotic Party can win the presidential elections.
