NPP claims to be a party of lawyers but lawlessness has become a recurring feature under their administration – Abraham Koomson

Abraham Koomson, the Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), has launched scathing criticism against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, labeling them as an incompetent bunch governing the nation. Koomson attributed the prevailing hardships faced by Ghanaians to the government’s mismanagement of the economy. Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s program, “Yepe Ahunu,” Koomson lamented that the government’s policies were detrimental to businesses, ultimately leading to their destruction.

Highlighting what he sees as a paradox, Koomson pointed out that despite the NPP’s claim of being a party of lawyers, lawlessness has become a recurring feature under their administration.

In parallel developments, the Minority in Parliament has disclosed its intention to launch impeachment proceedings against President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This decision came following a letter dated March 18, 2024, from the Secretary to the President, urging the Clerk of Parliament to refrain from sending the anti-LGBTQ bill to the Jubilee House for the President’s assent.

Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, revealed this stance on March 21, 2024, denouncing the presidential directive as undemocratic and unacceptable. He emphasized the Minority’s commitment to upholding Ghana’s 1992 constitution, vowing to resist any encroachments upon it.
