Nations FC Appoints Frimpong Manso as New Head Coach Until 2027

Nations Football Club, Ghana Premier League side based in Abrankese, have announced the appointment of Frimpong Manso as Head Coach replacing Kassim Ocansey Mingle until 2027, AhotorSports can confirm.

Mingle was relieved of his duties despite a 3-2 home victory against Techiman Eleven Wonders in the 7th round of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season last Sunday. This win marked only the second victory of the season for Nations FC and their first since the opening weekend on September 14, 2025.

Despite the recent triumph, the club’s management decided to part ways with Mingle and Smith, likely due to a string of underwhelming performances. Under Mingle’s leadership, Nations FC endured a five-game winless streak prior to the Techiman Eleven Wonders match, which evidently put pressure on the coaching duo. The team’s inconsistent form has left them in 12th place in the league standings, accumulating just 8 points from 7 matches.

The departure of Mingle and Smith raises questions about the club’s direction as they prepare for their next challenge, an away fixture against Bechem United on the weekend of November 1-2, 2025.

Manso, 66, renowned for his tactical acumen and history of nurturing talent, will be assisted by Aboagye Dacosta, a former Asante Kotoko player and ex-coach of Women’s Premier League side Ashtown Ladies.

Frimpong Manso’s arrival is a major coup for the Abrankese-based outfit, who sit 12th in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League with 8 points from 7 matches. His proven track record speaks volumes: last season, he masterminded Bibiani Gold Stars’ historic first-ever domestic double, clinching both the Ghana Premier League title and the GHALCA Top 4 trophy.

Under his guidance, the Miners ended a long title drought, qualifying for continental competition for the first time and showcasing disciplined, counter-attacking football that confounded bigger rivals.

Manso, a CAF License A holder with prior stints at clubs like Asante Kotoko, Karela United, and the Ghana U17 national team (Black Starlets), brings a wealth of experience that could transform Nations’ fortunes.
