The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) made history last night with the inaugural all-female music festival, Sherhythms, at Alliance Francaise in Accra.
The two-day event, themed “Empowering Her Voices, Amplifying Her Act and Reshaping Industry,” brought together talented female artists from across the country to showcase their skills and celebrate women’s empowerment in the music industry.

The festival featured an impressive lineup of female artists, including Kessewaa Kessey, Lamisi, Veronica Kumi Bruce, Okore, Megx, Lali X Lola, Akler, and many more. The artists delivered electrifying performances that got the crowd singing along and dancing to their favorite tunes.

MUSIGA President Bessa Simons applauded the female artists who performed at the festival and encouraged other musicians to join MUSIGA to benefit from the organization’s initiatives. “As you pay your dues, you will also get the biggest platform to perform to the whole world,” he said.

2nd Vice President of MUSIGA, Abena Ruthy, also spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of initiatives like Sherhythms in promoting female artists and helping them thrive in their careers. “This is an initiative of the female desk by the leadership of MUSIGA to help female artists succeed in the industry,” she said.

The Sherhythms festival is a testament to MUSIGA’s commitment to empowering female artists and promoting gender equality in the music industry. The event provided a unique platform for female artists to showcase their talents, network, and gain exposure in the industry.
