(Listen): Workers are suffering; I sometimes ask if the NPP Gov’t is a group of “Mental People” – GFL Gen. Sec

The Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour(GFL) Abraham Koomson goes hard on the NPP government as he fights for workers.

Appearing on Ahotor 92.3 FM‘s Yepe Ahunu show as a guest, Mr. Koomson said the current government has shown that they don’t care about workers because some of the policies implemented by the government are creating problems for workers.

Touching on the inaugural speech by Vice President Dr. Bawumia as the NPP Presidential candidate, Mr. Koomson said some of the comments are “senseless”.

“They are saying the 15% VAT on Electricity was a plan of the NDC in the past if the NDC thought about it and didn’t implement it, that is common sense was working because the timing was not right”

“But for the NPP, I just don’t know if it foolishness or something, they want to implement it and I will not redraw my statement because Ghanaian workers are suffering,” he told Nana Dogbe.

Mr. Koomson said a World Health Organization (W.H.O) record which said some 2.5 million people have mental issues in Ghana could be true and most of them will be NPP members.

On Dr. Bawumia’s promise to scrap the E-levy, Mr. Koomson was of the view that Ghanaians wouldn’t accept Dr, Bawumia as President because he is not truthful.

“The lies are just too much and there is evidence to prove that there is nothing that this man will say that we should accept it, he is just lying,” he said.

He said Ghana is at a cross end under the NPP but a change is coming which he quoted Act 2:1-47 as the biblical proof.
