(Listen): When the OSP fails, Ghana will lose the fight against corruption – Kissi Agyabeng

Ghana’s Special Prosecutor, Lawyer Kissi Agyapong has indicated to the public that, should the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) fail, Ghana will lose the fight against corruption with its attendance erosion of the country.

He said, he does not intend to pontificate but he has to say this to institutions and strengthen them, especially to the law enforcement agencies that, we should not take the relative peace and security that we are enjoying as a country for granted.

Speaking at a press conference today November 29 at the premises of the OSP, Lawyer Kissi Agyabeng indicated that, exactly one year ago he put some questions to the public on a radio interview asking whether we are ready to fight corruption as a country.

According to him, the question has nothing to do with the preparedness of the OSP but every citizen and resident of Ghana. He said it seemed to him at that time that we were not ready to fight corruption.

“Chief among my questions previously was our collective tendency to largely remain silent or render halfhearted commendation when anti-corruption agencies proceed against persons we dislike”, he added.
