Kwame A Plus Sparks Debate with Comments on Flooding and Politicians’ Role

Kwame Asare Obeng has stirred conversation on social media after sharing his views on the recent flooding in Ghana during a live video.

The Gomoa Central MP stated that while many expect politicians to solve every problem, citizens also have a responsibility to change their attitudes.

According to him, during flood disasters, the President’s immediate role is often limited to assessing the situation, offering support, and expressing sympathy.

A Plus also mentioned John Dumelo, describing him as “a good guy,” but suggested that public displays such as wearing boots and walking through flooded communities do not necessarily solve the underlying problems.

“The truth is only one, and I have to speak it,” A Plus said, adding that if Ghanaians do not change their attitudes, politicians alone cannot fix the country’s challenges.

His remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that citizens must take greater responsibility, while others argue that elected leaders should be held accountable for addressing recurring flooding issues and improving infrastructure.
