A security Analyst, Adip Saani says Government should walk the talk and sanction law breakers to reduce the occurrences of unnecessary attacks.
“Well, surely we need to maintain calm, levels of fairness on the ground; we need more boots to ensure that the fight is stopped”.
It doesn’t end there, justice has to be served. The police together with the intelligence will have to send a clear signal to the effect that, Nkwanta is not war zone, inducing inconsistencies with the law, it can catch up with you.
They have to send that clear message that if you misbehave; the law will catch up with you and expect that people are brought to book of what has happened.
If not, if my relative is killed and if nobody is held accountable, what message do you think it might be running through my mind?
Then going forward, I think we need to engage the major stakeholders”
The security analyst Adip Saani was responding to the ethnic clashes at Nkwanta South in the Oti Region which has led to the death of eight people on 3FM, monitored by Ahotor FM news desk.

Government through the interior ministry imposed the curfew in the area to restrict movement of residents in the area.
A local journalist Obrempong Owusu who reported the incidence to 3FM said, the community has been deserted by many following the implementation of these measures. “The police are still on patrol to ensure that everything is calm.
Around 12pm, they were on the place to ensure that properties and lives were safe even before the curfew was imposed; residents were already leaving the town to ensure that their lives are safe because as at yester night, I can tell you a lot of properties were destroyed.
So people were already fleeing from the town before the security imposed the curfew as at 5pm.
As I speak with you now, I can say the town is deserted, everybody is complying with the security measures”.
The Oti Region Minister Joshua Makubu says the armed military and the police Team deployed to the area have been tasked to ensure that the community remains safe.
