Ghanaians cannot even remember anything in the budget— Agnes Naa Momo Lartey

Ghanaian cannot even remember anything in the budget, since the budget is uninspiring and did not address the economic issues of Ghanaians whilst the content of the budget is very deceptive.

The growth projection in the 2024 budget is so insignificant which cannot address the severe economic situation Ghanaians are going through.

The Member of Parliament for Krowor Constituency Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey said this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu in Accra.

She is of the view that, it’s on record; the best performance of the New Patriotic Party was the first three years the gains the National Democratic Congress has left behind through home based policy submitted to International Monetary Fund facility. Hence the government management of the economy was very bad and this has brought adverse effect on all the sectors of the economy.

Touching on the health sector, the government policy on this sector has nothing to write home. Speaking to the facts, for the past three years the La Polyclinic was demolished, nothing tangible was done to bring back the facility for the resident of Krowor constituency and its environs.

The government financial facility, the government has arranged in the past for the construction for the La Polyclinic can be considered as empty political promises, and the recent new financial projection in the 2024 budget in her opinion she does not believe the project will be completed on schedule.

Touching on the twenty four hour economy she said the journey is a fear of unknown. Walking on this trajectory is from known to unknown and looking at the value chain the unemployed youth can be put to productive activities when security and infrastructure are put in place the economy can turn around.

Hon Agnes Naa Momo Lartey reiterated that the 24hour economy policy will benefit the manufacturing sector with innovation that is transformative to address the construction and service industry to help these industry’s to grow, will serve as a game changer with the endorsement from the Trade Unions it’s in the right direction.

Touching on the fishing industry, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, opined that, the local economy is in dare need for support, especially accommodation facilities, though she initiate a project in providing some shelters he believes it’s not enough.

She said provision of landing sites along the coastal communities to enhance the fishing industry which is going through severe neglect for the past seven years under the leadership of New Patriotic Party.
