Ghana did not make it to the top 10 list of happiest African countries in the 2024 World Happiness Report.

In the 2024 World Happiness Report, Ghana ranked significantly lower than the Nordic nations. The report also noted that Ghana did not make it to the top 10 list of happiest African countries.

According to the report, the Nordic countries, including Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden, maintained their positions at the top of the happiness rankings.

Finland, in particular, retained its title as the happiest country for the seventh consecutive year.

The survey not only assessed happiness but also considered factors such as GDP, life expectancy, and perceptions of freedom and corruption to gain insights into each country’s overall well-being.

John Helliwell, the founding editor of the World Happiness Report and an emeritus economics professor at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver School of Economics, highlighted Finland’s strengths in these areas.

He mentioned that Finland excels in returning lost wallets, indicating a strong sense of community and trust among its people.

Additionally, Helliwell praised Finland’s high-quality and widely accessible health and education systems, emphasizing the country’s commitment to supporting its citizens’ well-being.
