Ghana international Brandon Thomas-Asante has been named the PFA Championship Fans’ Player of the Month for October 2025, capping a sensational run of form for Coventry City. The 26-year-old forward, who switched allegiances from West Brom in the summer, secured the accolade via a public vote organized by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA).
Thomas-Asante was Coventry’s talisman throughout the month, scoring six goals in six appearances across league and cup competitions, earning him Coventry’s Player of the Month. His strikes directly earned 10 points for the Sky Blues and lifted them into the Championship playoff zone.
He scored one goal in a 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on October 1, one goal and one assist in a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough on October 5, one goal in a 2-1 win over Watford on October 19, two goals in a 3-2 win at Stoke City on October 22, one goal in a 1-1 draw with Norwich City on October 26, and registered no goals in a 1-2 EFL Cup loss at Wrexham on October 29.
The only blot was a rare blank in the midweek cup exit, but even then his work-rate and hold-up play remained pivotal.Signed on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee in August 2024, Thomas-Asante wasted no time repaying the faith.
He opened his Coventry account on debut in the EFL Cup against Oxford United and has since registered 11 goal involvements in 13 games (8 goals, 3 assists).
A product of Milton Keynes Dons’ academy, the London-born striker honed his craft on loan at Salford City before breaking through at West Brom (2022–2024), where he netted 20 times in 79 outings. His physical presence, left-foot precision, and aerial threat have drawn
parallels with Ghanaian greats like Matthew Amoah and Junior Agogo.
Thomas-Asante debuted for Ghana in June 2024 and scored his first international goal in May 2025 against Nigeria in the Unity Cup. He is currently with the squad in Asia for friendlies against Japan on November 14 and South Korea on November 18.
He is currently at the Black Stars camp in Japan for Kirin Cup 2025 friendly.
