Opposition Urges Police Action Over Missing Biometric Devices Ahead of December Polls

The Minority in Parliament is calling on the police to swiftly address the disappearance of seven biometric devices, expressing concerns about potential implications for the upcoming December elections.

These biometric devices, intended for voter registration and verification by the Electoral Commission, have gone missing, as highlighted by the Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, during a press briefing in Parliament on Tuesday, March 19.

The Electoral Commission confirms that seven of the biometric devices are indeed missing.

Mr. Ato Forson urged the CID and the Ghana Police Service to immediately issue a statement giving the details of their investigation so far.

Dr. Forson emphasized the need for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Ghana Police Service to expedite their investigation and provide updates to the public.
