Kumasi Asante Kotoko Part Ways with Some Players Following the End of 2023-24 GPL Season
Kumasi Asante Kotoko has announced the departure of some players following the conclusion of the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League season.
The club management has emphasized that these changes are necessary to pave the way for new talent and to reinvigorate the team’s competitive edge and marks a strategic move to looks to rebuild and strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.
The decision to release these players comes after a season filled with mixed performances, where Kotoko fell short of its ambitious goals and placing 6th position with 49 points after 34 matches played. While some departures were anticipated due to expiring contracts and underperformance.
Among the notable exits are several first-team regulars and a few promising young talents such as Isaac Oppong , Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad , Serge Eric Zeze , Nicholas Mensah , George Mfege ,Kalo Quattara , Nicholas Osei Bonsu ,John Tedeku, Sherif Mohammed, Augustine Agyapong and Moise Pouaty . The club’s management has expressed gratitude for their contributions and wished them success in their future endeavors.
