The Black Meteors Management Committee chairman, Fred Acheampong has revealed their target for the upcoming under -23 tournament in Morocco.
In an interview, Fred Acheampong explained that their target is to qualify for the Olympics, it’s long overdue.
“Right from day one, it’s not even now that we are setting our target. I mean when the team was assembled and started with the qualifiers, we decided to qualify for the Afcon and after that, the ultimate target is to qualify for the Olympics. If we end up winning the tournament, it will be a bonus, but the ultimate target is to qualify for the Olympics. “
Ghana has not qualified for Afcon-23 since 2004 and is bent on qualifying.
The tournament is scheduled to commence on June 24 and will run until July 7, 2023, in Morocco.
Ghana has been drawn into a challenging group alongside the host nation, Morocco, as well as Guinea and Congo.
The Black Meteors, under the guidance of their coaching staff, are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success at the tournament.
