Hearts of Oak coach, Slavko Matic was left to rue missed chances after their 2-0 defeat to Aduana Stars in the betPawa Premier League match day 18.
The Rainbows played well and had almost seven glaring opportunities in the game, but they were wasteful in front of the goal.
In an interview after the match, Coach Slavko said his boys were wasteful in the final term of Aduana’s half and could not convert all chances that came their way.
“We had about six–seven chances but we couldn’t score, and they punished us. Very nice second goal. The first goal was very easy but sometimes when you don’t score, mentally the spirit of the team goes down. I think that happened today “.
Aduana Stars were made to pay for their prolificacy as Isaac Mintah scored a brace in the second half to earn the maximum points and Matic felt the spirit of his team went down following their failure to convert their chances.
The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak in fourth place with 28 points.
Aduana Stars have extended their lead on the league log to 35 points after week 18 – five points above second-placed Bechem United.
