Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Krachi East district in the Volta region, Hon. Peter Awuranyi has said the rules and regulations that birth the National Democratic Congress NDC by the founder, FLT Jerry John Rawlings has been diverted to a different channel by current folks of the NDC party which is very bad and will not help in the future.
According to the former DCE, The NDC is a socialist party and gives room for everyone who is capable for the betterment of the party and the country at large but things are not the same as it used to be
His comment comes after there has been several accusations of spending a lot of money by some contestants to delegates at the just ended national congress of the party in the Accra sports stadium.
Speaking on simpieso with Emmanuel Martey a.k.a Alaska De Don, he said its something that is worrying and must be look to because if it continues in the future, capable people who do not have money cannot contest for positions in the party.
We were in the stadium and the delegates were no where to be found even when former president was giving his speech, what were they doing outside, he said.
The opposition National Democratic Congress NDC at the weekend held its 10th National Delegates Congress at the Accra Sports Stadium to elect new national officers to lead the party for the next four years.
The congress was attended by former President John Mahama and a host of party stalwarts.
The congress started in the early hours of Saturday and ended Sunday morning with the major highlights being the election of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah as new national chairman and the return of Fifi Fiavi Kwetey as the new general secretary.
