Board member for Accra Hearts of Oak has blamed former coach Samuel Boadu for the club’s struggle this season and their exit from the CAF confederations cup.
Odotei, who was nearly attached by irate fans last week after their shock exit from the Confederation cup claims that the sacking of the coach and their refusal to participate in the G6 competition was Samuel Boadu’s decision.
Sowah-Odotei on why Hearts of Oak played G6 with fringe players and Boadu’s sack:
” He (Samuel Boadu) said He will not play in the G6. We tried to convince him but He said NO! We even advised him to use the new players and other fringe players but He still declined from playing the G6″
” I can state it categorically that myself and Akanbi have not held technical meetings with coach Samuel Boadu this season we don’t, it was Samuel Boadu who called us into a meeting after the Olympics match for a meeting, He called us into the meeting we were even surprised”
On the sack of Samuel Boadu
” The board chairman called individual board members ( Thomas Esso, Dr Nyahoe Tamakloe, Alhaji Akanbi) and He got convinced that it’s time Boadu must leave, He called Boadu himself and communicated the decision He has taken and that’s it”
