A report by the Northern and Upper East Regions regional Nadmo says about 1,000 Burkinabes have entered Ghana through the upper east region due to a terrorist attack in their country.
speaking on the development, the district Nadmo director in Binduri Mr Daniel Azimbe explained that they got information on this entry on the 11th of July this year.
he said some three electoral area assembly members from Bansi, yeregongu, zorsi all in Bawku had reported.
According to the Binduri Nadmo report these persons have been accommodated in the mosque and some homes
He said some are Ghanaians who had travelled for farming work and marriage whilst others are totally non-Ghanaians.
‘’Currently is very difficult to check on their true identity because we do not have any other option than a Ghana card or Burkinabe identity card which most do not have
We have not checked them medically, not checked security-wise, neither have they been taken back but we have kept them here there is no mat to sleep on, food or anything and we are doing our best ‘’he said.
According to the report these persons neither have been sent back and is described as a serious thing because our borders and the free entries are still unkept which means more can enter.
