Former President John Dramani Mahama is celebrating his 60 birthday today, November 29, 2018.
Mahama has a special place in the history of Ghana’s Fourth Republic, having risen through the ranks to become president.
The 60-year-old served as the Vice President from 2009 to 2012, when he was sworn in as stand-in president following the shocking death of then President John Evans Atta-Mills.
He was, however, elected the substantive President after recording a first-round victory in the 2012 elections.
But he lost out in his bid for a second term after the NDC succumbed to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections.
He is currently seeking to be elected as the presidential candidate to lead the NDC party into the 2020 general elections.
Mahama also previously served as a Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2009 and Minister of Communications from 1998 to 2001.
On this special day for Ghana’s immediate past president JDM, we at ahotoronline.com and our mother company Universal Multimedia Limited, say a happy 60th birthday to John Dramani Mahama.
