Akufo Addo’s Ekunfi comments smack of an autocratic leader-IMANI AFRICA.

President of the Civil Society Organization IMANI Africa Franklin Cudjoe has criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo over his comments on the lack of development in Ekumfi.

According to Mr. Cudjoe, the president’s comment contradicts the presidential oath.

President Akufo-Addo in an interaction with some traditional leaders from Ekumfi over the weekend said he overlooked development in Ekumfi because the constituents voted out NPP Parliamentary Candidate Francis Ato Cudjoe in the 2020 elections.

Former president and presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has taken issues with President Akufo-Addo for the latter’s recent statement suggesting intentional neglect of development in the Ekumfi constituency.

Mr. Mahama criticised the President’s remarks, deeming them “unfortunate” and highlighting what he sees as a tendency for the President to make partisan statements.

Also Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman, running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 general elections has slammed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his recent comments about the lack of development in Ekumfi.

She said the President has been very consistent in blaming his failures on Ghanaians who did not vote for him.

Adding his voice, the president of IMANI Africa Franklin Cudjoe expressed his disapproval of the President’s comments, labelling them as unfortunate.

He said president’s comments smack of an autocratic leader.
