Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Aka Blay, has used the occasion of his birthday celebration to call on Ghanaians to adopt positive attitudes and mindsets to help move the country forward.
Speaking on Ahotor Mmre with Obaapa Janee on his special day, the veteran musician stressed that the development of Ghana depends not only on government policies but also on the actions and attitudes of ordinary citizens.
According to Aka Blay, many of the challenges facing the country can be addressed if citizens become more responsible in their daily lives. He cited poor sanitation habits, such as indiscriminate littering and a lack of respect for public spaces, as examples of behaviours to change.
The highlife icon noted that while the government is pursuing a national reset agenda, the effort will only succeed if Ghanaians are also willing to reset their own mindsets and attitudes.
“Since the government wants to reset the country, we as citizens must also change our mindset. If we don’t change, the reset agenda will not work,” he stated.
Aka Blay emphasised that the leader alone can transform Ghana without the active participation of its people. He encouraged citizens to take personal responsibility, obey laws, maintain cleanliness, and contribute positively to their communities.
His message serves as a reminder that national development requires a collective effort from both leaders and citizens.
As he marked another year of life, the celebrated musician chose to focus not on himself, but on inspiring Ghanaians to become agents of positive change for the nation’s future.
