A Continental Journey of Unity, Ancestral Reconnection & Royal Diplomacy
The 2025 edition of the Cultural Oneness Festival recorded one of the most historic cultural movements in Northern Ghana, bringing together African royalty, diaspora leaders, youth movements and traditional authorities in a powerful journey of ancestral reconnection, diplomacy and unity.
DAY 1 – 9TH DECEMBER 2025
Arrival & Royal Courtesy Visits
The Cultural Oneness delegation officially arrived at the Tamale International Airport and was warmly received by Mr. Saeed, Director of the Centre for National Culture (CNC), Northern Region.

The deleg ation arrived with:
• His Royal Majesty King Nabongo Mumia II, King of the Wanga Kingdom, Kenya
• Elders of the Wanga Kingdom
• President and Vice President of the Harlem Tourism Board (USA)
• Diaspora community members
• Youth volunteers and partners

The delegation proceeded to the Mampurugu Kingdom in the North East Region to pay a courtesy visit to Naa Sheriga, Overlord of Mampurugu Kingdom. The King was warmly welcomed by the Overlord and his elders, and King Mumia II was ceremonially gifted a royal Ram as a symbol of unity and brotherhood.

The Nayiri also supported the Cultural Oneness Festival with a Bull Cow.
From Mampurugu, the delegation moved to Bolgatanga (Upper East Region) where they were received at Akayet Hotel by Kacstone Record’s and Paga Youth Movement with a cultural troupes drumming, dancing and traditional performances.
DAY 2 – 10TH DECEMBER 2025
Regional Government Engagement & Ancestral Reconnection
The delegation paid a courtesy call on the Upper East Regional Minister’s Office and was officially received by the Coordinating Director, who pledged full support for the Cultural Oneness Festival.

The delegation later visited:
• Paga Pio Palace – received by palace elders
• Pikworo Slave Camp – site of a grand ancestral welcoming ceremony
At Pikworo, a powerful ancestral reenactment ceremony was held by the youth, telling the story of African ancestors before enslavement. King Mumia II was presented with a royal smock and ceremonial gifts.

A historic ancestral soil reconnection ceremony was conducted. Soil taken earlier from Pikworo, Salaga and Sakpli to the United States to connect with our ancestors there and we were also given a soil from the Harlem African Burial Ground (HABG) to returned and spiritually reconnected to the land. This sacred ritual was led by:
• Tengol K. Kplemani
• Chief Tony Rogers – President, Harlem Tourism Board
• King Mumia II and his elders
This reconnection honored ancestors who did not survive the transatlantic slave journey and those who remained on the land.

DAY 3 – 11TH DECEMBER 2025
Cultural Fair & Royal Gathering
A grand Cultural Fair was held at Jubilee Park, Tamale, bringing together:
• Paramount chiefs and traditional leaders
• Represent was Dalun Lana, Tolon Naa representatives , Pagri Naa, Choggu Naa representatives
• Chief Asaga of Nangodi
• Kpembiwura, representing the Gonja Kingdom and Yagbonwura
The event was graced by diaspora communities and cultural organizations, making it one of the largest royal-cultural gatherings in Northern Ghana.

DAY 4 – 12TH DECEMBER 2025
Youth Empowerment & Fashion Showcase
The Youth Empowerment Forum was held at UDS – Tamale Campus (Dungu) under the theme Ready Minds Afrika, focusing on youth self-realisation, identity, leadership and Pan-African consciousness.
Special royal and international participation included:
• King Nabongo Mumia II (Kenya)
• Bwille King (Zambia & Congo)
• Harlem Tourism Board leadership
• Youth leaders and educators
Later, the delegation visited Dalun Palace, where the Dalun Lana warmly received the team and offered land for diaspora return and resettlement initiatives, strengthening Cultural Oneness’s diaspora reintegration agenda. The palace also gifted yams and guinea fowls to host visiting delegates.
That evening, a glamorous Sahel Fashion Show was held at Jubilee Park, produced by Herman, showcasing African designs, heritage and creativity.
DAY 5 – 13TH DECEMBER 2025
Palace Experience – Buipe
The delegation proceeded to Buipewura Palace, where they were received by Buipewura Jinapor II. The palace experience featured:
• Royal historical narrations
• Grand traditional hospitality
• A massive communal feast prepared for guests
Later that day, King Mumia II returned to Accra to prepare for his flight back to Kenya.
DAY 6 – 14TH DECEMBER 2025
Final Royal Thanksgiving Visit
The delegation paid a final courtesy visit to Kpembiwura Palace at Salaga to formally thank the traditional authority for their hospitality and support. Delegates later began their return journeys to Accra and their respective countries.
CONCLUSION
The Cultural Oneness Festival 2025 was not just an event — it became a continental ancestral movement, reconnecting Africa and the diaspora, strengthening inter-kingdom diplomacy, empowering youth, and laying the foundation for diaspora return, cultural tourism and African unity.
