Asante Mampong National Democratic Congress communicator (NDC) was tragically stabbed to death by his wife on Thursday night. The deceased, 45-year-old Osei Yaw Akoto, also known as ‘Borga’, was involved in a fight with his wife when the incident occurred.
According to his friend George, Akoto’s son sought help when he witnessed the stabbing. Rushing to the scene, George found Akoto lying in a pool of blood with chest wounds.
Despite efforts to stabilize him at Asante Mampong Government Hospital, Akoto succumbed to his injuries within 15 minutes.
George mentioned that while the couple, both trained teachers, often had disagreements, it was unclear why the altercation turned fatal this time.
The wife has been arrested to aid in investigations following a report to the police.
