The President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professionals Forum Hon. Sam Pee Yalley has said it’s very unfortunate and disheartening the decision by the Bank of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to collapse most of the indigenous Ghanaian banks in the country, reasons he thinks has nothing to do with mismanagement rather political.
He further stated that, in his opinion, the political culture of cronyism and family and friends government under President Akuffo Addo are some of the factors leading to this act in effect does not benefit the economy, but rather those who are close to power.
He said this on the Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor FM in Accra. Hon. Sam Pee Yalley is of the view that the new bank established in place of the collapsed banks, namely Consolidated Bank of Ghana, capital share is very bad and nothing to right home.
He condemned the decision to collapse these Ghanaian banks, which he believes has really affected the economy and the financial position of the country, more especially has resulted in the loss of jobs created by these banks that go under the hammer of Bank of Ghana.
In his opinion the #Occupy Bank of Ghana demonstration, he said this demonstration is very important; he thinks will send a strong signal to the government to wake up and fight the alleged corruption cases going on in the country. He therefore called on the youth to rally behind the protest and take part in the ongoing voter registration and register to vote the incompetent NPP government out of office.
The corruption scandal that hit the BOG calls for removal of the governor for another competent person to manage the place.
Hon. Yalley raised a reservation on a statement going around saying that Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawuamia is the major threat to the NDC and is just a jock. This he opined saying as of now he is not even the leader of the NPP and his performance with the current president is the scorecard the NDC is going to use to manage his campaign if it happens to emerge as the flag bearer of the contest in the 4th November NPP presidential primaries.
He reiterated that the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready to defeat him to take the mantle of leadership of the country which is faced with corruption and hard economic hardship Ghanaians are going through.
Touching on Alan Kwremateng’s resignation from the NPP presidential primaries on the morning show, he said he is not surprised since the agenda of the power brokers in the party have already made their minds to pick established candidate Dr. Bawumia; he thinks it’s all a grand scheme to use him to cover up their evil deeds in the eight years administration of the NPP government.
Though Alan has served the party very well, President Nana Addo is not ready to support him in the presidential race.
