Members of the Food Suppliers Association who have been picketing at the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) premises says, they are not leaving until their monies are paid.
According to them, they are waiting patiently for the meeting on Monday, July 9 2023 with management of NAFCO.
They made this known in an interaction with the media.
“We are not going anywhere, where are we going? Until we get our monies, we are not leaving; we are more comfortable here than our homes” they said.
Meanwhile, the National Food Buffer Stock Company says, it is committed to working with stakeholders to pay monies owed to the Food Suppliers.
They made this known in a statement issued yesterday, July 6,2023 announcing that it will hold a crucial meeting to find ways of resolving the issues.
Members of the Food Suppliers Association have been picketing at the premises of NAFCO since Tuesday to demand the monies owed them.
NAFCO said, they sympathize with the Food Suppliers in such unfortunate situation and is working to have the situation resolved.
“The Company is equally concerned about their plight and appreciates their patience. An emergency board meeting has been scheduled on the situation and the outcome including a possible roadmap for resolution, will be shared thereafter” NAFCO stated.
