Trump and Infantino unveil a PASS system for Visa Applications for World Cup Spectatorhip

In a high-stakes Oval Office gathering that blended soccer diplomacy with geopolitical brinkmanship, President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino have launch a “PASS” system for visa applications toward World Cup spectatorship.

Trump, flanked by Infantino, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, unveiled the “FIFA Pass” – a Prioritized Appointment Scheduling System (PASS) designed to fast-track visa interviews for ticket holders attending U.S.-based matches.

“If you have a ticket for the World Cup, you can have a prioritized appointment to get your visa,” Infantino declared, his tone buoyant as he emphasized the program’s role in welcoming “between five and 10 million people… from all over the world to enjoy the World Cup.”

Under the initiative, fans who purchase official tickets through FIFA’s portal will gain priority access to consular appointments at U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide, addressing long-standing concerns about bureaucratic delays that could sideline supporters from the June 11 to July 19, 2026, extravaganza.

The event, centered around the gleaming 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy placed prominently on the Resolute Desk, marked a pivotal moment in preparations for the expanded 48-team tournament set to unfold across North America next summer.

What began as a celebration of streamlined travel for millions of international fans quickly devolved into warnings of game relocations and even military action against co-host Mexico, underscoring the Trump administration’s hardline stance on border security and urban safety.
