Hope Rises for Dwarf Island: Church of Pentecost Begins Construction of a Modern Clinic

The people of Dwarf Island, located in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District, have long suffered from a lack of basic healthcare facilities. Each week, lives are tragically lost often from snake bites or complications during childbirth because there is no clinic or hospital on the island to provide timely medical attention.

Victims of snake bites or expectant mothers in distress are typically transported by boat and road for six to ten hours to reach the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital or the Oti Regional Hospital. Sadly, many do not survive the difficult journey.

In response to this dire situation, The Church of Pentecost has stepped forward with a life-changing initiative. The Church has begun the construction of an ultra-modern clinic at Galilea on Dwarf Island, a project that promises to transform healthcare access for the entire island community.

The sod-cutting ceremony for the clinic was performed by Prophet Victor Asante Darko, Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Afram Plains Area. Once completed, the facility will not only serve residents of Dwarf Island but will also function as a referral center for surrounding communities.

The announcement of the clinic’s construction was met with overwhelming joy and gratitude. Community members, traditional leaders, and representatives from neighboring villages gathered for a colorful ceremony, pledging their full support and cooperation to ensure the project’s success.

For the people of Dwarf Island, this marks the dawn of new hope—an end to needless suffering and a future where access to quality healthcare is finally within reach.
