A communication sighted by Ahotoronline from the presidency and signed on behalf of the president by Minister for information, Hon. Mustapha Hamid indicates that the chairperson of the EC madam Charlotte Osei and her two deputies have been sacked.
Details and the actual basis as to why the three beleaguered officials of the electoral commission were sacked have not been disclosed but we can confirm that this development is a product of a petition sent to the president by certain unknown personalities demanding the removal of the Madam Charlotte Osei.
We can all remember the appointment of Madam Charlotte Osei sparked a huge resentment and scorn from the then opposition, NPP led by Akuffo Addo. Many of the party’s stalwarts vowed to remove her from office in an event they won the 2016 elections so today’s development comes as no surprise to many political watchers as Akuffo Addo and his party persist in their grand scheme to engage in flagrant disregard for rules and ethics guiding the conduct of governance in Ghana.
In a sharp response to what the NDC interpret as a constitutional d’etat, the party and other political parties have vowed to resist this attempt as all cost.
