Young Apostles FC Reverses Ghana Premier League Boycott Decision

Young Apostles FC has rescinded its decision to boycott the Ghana Premier League, following a crisis meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The Wenchi-based side had announced the boycott on January 19, 2026, citing a “continuous wave of poor officiating calls” against them, which they believed was negatively impacting their development in the league.

The GFA convened a Zoom meeting with Young Apostles FC’s management, assuring them of efforts to address the issue, including a meeting with referees to appeal for improved performance.

Satisfied with the GFA’s response, Young Apostles FC held an internal meeting to analyze the assurances given and agreed that practical measures would be taken to resolve the officiating issues.

Consequently, the management has decided to reverse the boycott decision, and the team will now honour their next league fixture against Dreams FC at Tuba Astro Turf. The GFA’s prompt action has averted a potentially damaging situation for the Ghana Premier League.
