15TH AFRICA ARMWRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP “ACCRA 2026”: Seven-Member Local Organizing Committee Inaugurated

The 15th Africa Armwrestling Championship, themed “Accra 2026”, is set to take place in Ghana’s capital from April 29 to May 3, 2026.

Ghana has been officially confirmed as the host nation by the Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA), with this continental event serving as a key qualifier for armwrestling at the 2027 African Games.

The championship is expected to draw around 450 athletes from over 22 African countries, showcasing top-tier strength, technique, and competition across various weight classes and categories.

A seven-member Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has been inaugurated to oversee preparations, coordinate logistics, and ensure the smooth execution of the event. The committee is chaired by Mrs. Maame Afua Houageto from the Ghana Tourism Authority, reflecting the event’s emphasis on promoting tourism and national pride alongside the sport.
