NGO Frantomapa organizes Maths and Science Quiz

Frantomapa an established Non-governmental Organization (NGO) with the aim off seeing to the well fare of vulnerable young people and also promoting the under privileged in society in collaboration with Adenta municipal Assembly on Tuesday 28th March, 2017 organized a Maths and Science Quiz Competition for some selected Junior High Schools (JHS) in the Municipality. 

This program which took place at Adenta Frafraha Senior High School had various schools participating which included, St. Francis JHS, Adenta Community JHS, Abubakar Sidiq JHS and Adjiringanor JHS.

This program brought together not only students but other dignitaries which included, The Maths and Science Coordinator for Adenta Municipality, The Circuit Supervisors and teachers from various schools.

In a speech delivered by the Adenta maths and science coordinator, Mrs Kate Agyei ,she emphasized on the fact that maths and Science are subjects that are greatly needed in our day to day activity and further stated that these subjects are not difficult as seen by most students. Mrs. Agyei encouraged the students to take away the false stigma associated with the studying of these subjects but rather embrace and appreciate it.

She again advised students not to take up the habit of “chew-pour-pass” but rather apply whatever they learn from school to the betterment of their lives and the society as a whole.

Miss. Selina Agyei, the Director of NGO Frantomapa in her remarks also admonished the students to take their studies seriously. She also drew their attention to the fact that one can never score 100% in the language subjects but can score 100% in Maths and Science if only they apply principles and methodologies associated with them.

In conclusion, she advised the students to reduce their time of watching unnecessary TV programs and Social media but should make their books their best partners where ever they may be.

The program ended with St.Francis JSH winning the quiz competition. Sponsors and the Adenta municipality gave out prizes to winners and participating schools.
