We want our roads in good shape – Dela Edem

The residents of Ashiaman have sent a strong signal to the government saying within the period of two months there is going to be another demonstration and calling on the minister of roads and highways Hon. Amoaku Attah, to respond to their call and address the deplorable roads in the Ashaiman constituency.

This call came as a backdrop of the recent demonstration stage in protest of the deplorable roads in the constituency.

He said the residents have suffered for far too long managing these bad roads for the past six years and counting since the New Patriotic Party government came to power in 2016.

The National Democratic Congress, National Communication Member Dela Edem, stated this on the Simpieso political show program on Ahotor FM in Accra.

Touching on the recent demonstration of Occupy BOG in protest of the resignation of the governor Dr. Ernest Addison and his two deputies, said the turnup was great and commended the cross-section of union groups, political parties, and civil societies organizations for sending a strong signal to the government and the Bank of Ghana to listen to the wind of change in the country.

He is of the view that the unguarded comments from the governor were very unfortunate and disrespectful.

And believe the governor should have turned up as an appointee of the state to do the needful to receive the petition.

The National Democratic Congress, National Communication Member Dela Edem, in his opinion, said, the governor shows the true character of his appointee president Nana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of his impunity and disrespect for the laws governing the operations and in day to day running of the Bank of Ghana.

The dissipation of huge funds to the government’s high level of corruption cases of unjustified contracts and all forms of abuse of sole sourcing of contracts was very unfortunate.

He said the corruption going on at the BOG has a lot to do with the role of the finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta who directs affairs as part of the economic management team has brought this burden and economic hardship to the citizens of the country.

He further stated that Ghanaians are really suffering from the mismanagement of the economy by the president and his team. And call on Ghanaians to come out in their numbers and vote them out comes December 2024.

He advises the NDC fraternity to be resilient and forthright to watch carefully what is going on in the NPP among the leading candidates bidding for the flag bearer race, to learn and use all comments in their internal battle in the 2024 campaign as a record of vital information coming out making news headlines.

He further appeals to the party faithful to work hard to wrestle power from the NPP in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
