‘Uphold religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence continually-Chief Imam urged Ghanaians.

The National Chief Imam, Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, is urging Ghanaians to uphold religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence continually.

According to him, despite the diverse ethnic groups in the country, unity should be maintaining and gratitude express to God for the prevailing peace and harmony.

The chief Imam made these remarks during a curtesy call by the member of parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzato Ablakkwa and divisional chief of the area who expressed gratitude for his benevolence in donating truckloads of goods and a cash donation of ghc70,000 to support the affected victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The Akosombo Dam, a critical hydroelectric facility, experienced unprecedented spillage, leading to widespread flooding and displacement of residents in surrounding areas leaving many families grappling with the loss of homes, livelihoods, and a sense of stability.

In light of this crisis, the resettlement project at Aveyime-Battor represents a beacon of hope and solidarity.

The affected individuals, now residing in Aveyime-Battor, are being offered not only shelter but also essential amenities like clean water, healthcare, and educational facilities to help rebuild their lives.

On his part, the member of parliament for north Tongu Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa commended the national chief Imam for his kind gesture noting that it has contributed to a housing project which will serve as an accommodation for 300 persons displaced by the Akosombo Dam spillage.
