Two young adults have run into trouble with the law over alleged robbery attack on a teacher.
David Akwei Adotey, unemployed, and Daniel Odai Afotey, a driver, reportedly attacked and robbed Daniel Apedo of his cellular phones and cash at Oyibi.
They were on Friday put before the Accra Circuit Court to answer charges of conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
The pair pleaded not guilty and they were ordered to make their next appearance on Thursday, April 19.
Three other persons said to be their accomplices are on the run.
Police Chief Inspector Kwabena Adu told the court, presided over by Mr. Aboagye Tandoh, that the incident happened on March 02, at about 0200 hours.
The accused together with their fugitive accomplices, stormed the house where Apedo lives, carrying locally-made pistols and wearing face masks.
They used cement blocks to force open the door to the house.
The prosecution said Apedo was woken from his sleep by the unusual noise and as he came out of room to find out what was happening, he was attacked by the robbers.
They ransacked his room and took away his two cellular phones and cash (local and foreign currency) – GH¢380.00, CFA 400 and US$100.
A formal report was made to the police and investigations led to the arrest of Adotey and Afotey.
The prosecution said a search conducted in Adotey’s room uncovered a toy pistol and a cutlass.
