The Accra Regional Police Command, with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), has arrested two brothers, Adams Adder Almeida and Baba Bilyon, in connection with the murder of 54-year-old Mohammed Rahman and the shooting of his wife, 53-year-old Christiana Fosu, at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija.
According to the Police, the incident occurred on August 6, 2026, after the Weija Police received information that a man and his wife had been shot and wounded at the estate. A police team dispatched to the scene found the two victims with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.
The victims were immediately conveyed to Fenny Hospital, Weija, where Mohammed Rahman was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife, Christiana Fosu, was referred to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and is currently on admission, responding to treatment.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.
Police say during interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida allegedly admitted to shooting Rahman and his wife. He reportedly told investigators that he was motivated by his perception that the deceased had repeatedly described him as “lazy” and “useless”, which he claimed had affected him mentally.
Following the interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida allegedly led investigators to a room at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved. Police said the weapon was concealed beneath a wall drop belonging to his brother, Baba Bilyon, who works with the deceased.
Investigations have further established that Adams Adder Almeida and Baba Bilyon reside together in the same room at Tuba. Adams allegedly told investigators that the pistol was given to him by a friend identified as Gideon.
He subsequently led the investigative team to Gideon’s residence, but he was not found at home. Police say efforts are underway to locate him to assist with the investigation.
Meanwhile, Baba Bilyon has also been arrested and is assisting the Police with investigations as efforts continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and apprehend any other persons who may be connected to the case.
