This Reshuffle should have been done a long time ago; GFL is not enthused about this 11th-hour reshuffle – Abraham Koomson

The Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labor(GFL) Mr. Abraham Koomson has said the executives of the federation aren’t happy with the recent reshuffle of ministers by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam was announced as the new Minister of Finance in a reshuffle by President Akufo-Addo.

He takes over from Ken Ofori-Atta who was relieved of his duties by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a major government reshuffle on Wednesday.

In February 2023, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam was announced Minister of State at the Finance Ministry as a replacement for Charles Adu Boahen who was removed following a corruption expose by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

According to Mr. Koomson, the harm has already been done and the President should have made the changes a long time ago.

“Fortunately Freddy Blay, their own man said it, and I have listened to a lot of intellectuals who are saying the reshuffle is long overdue. This Finance Minister you’ve brought, what can he do in this short time remaining”? He told Nana Dogbe on Ahotor 92.3 Fm.

Mr. Koomson opined that the government is ruling with lies which can’t happen in any part of the world only in Ghana.

“How do you trust people who fought that E-Levy was the game changer but it was a lie, it’s only in Ghana that a government will be ruling with lies and the people are not angry,” he said.

Mr. Abraham Koomson wants the constitution to make provision for any presidential candidate to go under a psychiatric checkup to know the mental state of the person to avoid electing somebody like President Akufo-Addo as president again.
